Vietnam is one of the most potential markets in the Asia-Pacific region for shoppertainment - a trend that combines online shopping with entertainment, according to a report named “Shoppertainment: APAC’s Trillion-Dollar Opportunity” by the US-based Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and TikTok.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is one of the most potentialmarkets in the Asia-Pacific region for shoppertainment - a trend that combinesonline shopping with entertainment, according to a report named “Shoppertainment:APAC’s Trillion-Dollar Opportunity” by the US-based Boston Consulting Group(BCG) and TikTok.

The report shows that the shoppertainment opportunity in theregion is projected to expand to a market value of over 1 trillion USD by 2025,doubling from the 500 billion USD value last year.

Indonesia, Japan, and the Republic of Korea will contribute67% of gross market value (GMV) in shoppertainment by 2025, reflecting theirlarge and established e-commerce bases.

Meanwhile, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailandadd to the mix of some of the region’s most exciting growth markets, and, alongsideAustralia, will contribute to a remarkable 63% compound annual growth rate (CAGR)over the next three years, quadrupling the market value from 24 billion USD to 100billion USD.

The fact shows that since the shoppertainment platformTikTok Shop appeared in Vietnam about a year ago, this trend of shopping hasbeen on the rise in the country.

Accordingly, in the past six months, the total value ofTikTok Shop's goods increased 11 times, of which the number of orders reporteda six-fold rise.

TikTok Shop has also organised over 10 training courses ondigital transformation in Vietnamese localities, and plans to continue holdingmore this year, and relaunch the hashtag #DacSanVietNam (Vietnamesespecialties) on the platform to promote trade connectivity./.

Vietravel Airlines adds Airbus A321 to fleet

Quang Ninh adjusts GRDP growth targets for each quarter

To collect more than 100 trillion VND (3.7 billion USD) in state budget revenue this year, the provincial People’s Committee issued a decision mapping out detailed GRDP growth waypoints for each leg of the year: 12.58% in the second quarter, taking first-half growth to 11.07%; 15.48% in the third quarter, lifting nine-month growth to 12.56%; and 14.86% in the fourth quarter, yielding a full-year print of 13.21%.

Vietnam’s public investment disbursement accelerating

Disbursement reached 227.2 trillion VND (8.73 billion USD) as of June 4, equal to 22.4% of the Prime Minister’s annual plan, the Ministry of Finance said. That was up from 198.4 trillion VND a week earlier, meaning more than 28.8 trillion VND was disbursed in the May 29–June 4 period alone, about 1.8 times the prior week’s pace.

Business confidence in Vietnam rebounds strongly: UOB
